How to Make Pasta Sauce from Fresh Tomatoes

See, I do not suddenly have the urge to cook mushroom soup. It is at the year end when most of us including me are on annual leave and you just have to find something to do. I have opted to cook. And I have decided to take a short break away from blogging too. So here am I inside the kitchen once again to prepare you another mouth watering dish. This time I would show you how to make pasta sauce from fresh tomatoes.

I seldom cook. Most of the time when I cook, it is approaching year end and when I have a few Christmas pot luck party to attend to. Pasta is always one of my favorite dishes to bring to any party. A pasta dish is very simple to prepare and the fact that a 500-gram packet spaghetti is enough to be consumed by 10 adults making this pasta dish very much cost saving indeed! I shall not show you how to boil spaghetti, shall I?

First, you have to cut each tomato into slices. I only halve my tomatoes as they are already small in size.

Diced the tomatoes

Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet. Throw in the onion and garlic and cook for a couple of minutes. Next, dump in tomato slices prepared beforehand. Let it cook for around 10 minutes or until the tomatoes are fully cooked. Shake and stir occasionally and at the same time, add salt and pepper to taste. Now, reduce the heat to low and add in around a cup of heavy cream. Allow the sauce to cook for another couple of minutes and then turn off the heat.

Now that you have prepared your pasta sauce. Add boiled and drained spaghetti to a large bowl. Drizzle with oil and sprinkle a cup of grated Parmesan cheese over the top. Pour on the pasta sauce and throw chopped parsley or basil over the top. Toss everything inside the bowl with tongs until all the pasta is coated with sauce.

Mmmmm... Delicious!

You can then bring this pasta dish to the party. Like I say, it is easy to prepare a really delicious pasta sauce from fresh tomatoes, isn’t it?
